Lion's Pride/Dogfish 120/Oxbow Brewery

Hello All,
I had a chance to go to Lion's Pride again last night with The Lady (as you can tell we try to get there at least a few times a month) and as usual Ryan and Leigh were awesome.............I hope I spelled her name right. The tap list was great. My first beer was the elusive Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA on tap. I've had it once before out of the bottle and I can say its better out of the tap. It was a fresher more piney taste with the hops adding that and a nice mild bitterness. Even with a blistering 21% ABV you really can't tell................pretty dangerous. As I was drinking it the alcohol was causing me to flush so it heats you up pretty well.
The next beer I had was the local brewery Oxbow Farmhouse Pale Ale. As previously stated in this blog I am very excited about this brewery. Their beers are flavorful, bold, well thought out and going into the higher end craft beer genre like no other in the state. The pale ale is delicious, crisp with an appropriate amount of farmhouse funk. The Lady had Oxbow Freestyle IPA and I had a few generous sips and it is another tasty beer. Good hop smell and flavor with that saison farmhouse funk which I love
The Lady and I decided to get an old favorite of ours. A bottle of Fantome Hiver. At 8% it has quite a kick that I had forgot about but has that Fantome farmey, funky, organic, hint of Belgian dirt that makes this brewery a one of a kind. Ryan had mentioned how this bottle had been around 2 years and that aging really adds a ton of body and funk to the beer. We originally had these as fresh bottle but aging it takes it to another level. If you have never had this beer or found it you now know where to get it...............Lion's Pride. Highly recommended
